JOB SUMMARY: Renders Physical Therapy evaluations and treatment procedures and techniques appropriate to the needs of individual patient. Assesses, treats, and cares for patients of all ages. Reports to the Operations Manager for Rehabilitation Services Tiadaghton Health. COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: Demonstrated ability to comprehend, speak, and write the English language. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Graduate of American Physical Therapy Association approved Curriculum with a Bachelor's of Science, Master's of Science, Doctorate (DPT), or Certificate in Physical Therapy required. Must be licensed or eligible for licensure by the State Board of Physical Therapy for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Performs medium duty work with sporadic heavy lifting, as this is a direct patient care position. Must be able to climb (especially stairs and ramps) and guard/assist patients while climbing stairs/ramps. Other physical abilities that are imperative include balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, fingering, talking, and hearing. Must have good depth perception to adequately perform the described. Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, in patients rooms, therapy gyms, occasionally in patients home, and in the community. Must be able to work with electrical equipment such as modality equipment. May be exposed to environmental hazards, infectious diseases, chemical agents (see MSDS), sharp objects, fluctuating noise levels, disagreeable odors, frequent interruptions, and agitated or emotionally distraught patients and families.
