The Workers Comp Coordinator is responsible for effectively managing the Tenet WIMS program. Serves as the communication link between the employer, supervisor, injured employee and the Third party Administrator (TPA). Ensures workersâ�� compensation claims forms are completed and filed accurately and timely in accordance with legal requirements. Administers the hospital return-to-work programs, namely transitional duty and modified duty. Works closely with Human Resources to comply with current state labor laws. Monitors claim trends and reports to A-team and Environment of Care Committee to reduce future work-related injuries and costs. Enters work-related injuries into proper data bases in a timely manner. Functions independently and as a team member. Responsible for recordkeeping and maintaining the OSHA 300 and 300A Logs. Ensures compliance with and documentation of mandatory Cal-OSHA educational programs for employee safety.
Required Training/Education/Experience/Certification: Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Organizational and multi-tasking skills essential. Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to prioritize in a fast paced environment. Previous data entry, data organization and data presentation skills required.
Fluent in written and spoken English. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position. High School diploma or equivalent. (2) Simple mathematics, (3) English proficiency, (4) Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office, HRMS, Excel and Word. Is fully competent in scope of knowledge of federal and state workersâ�� compensation laws and principles. Demonstrates full and competent knowledge of Cal-OSHA recordkeeping rules and principles.
