Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) Orthopedic Surgery
We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to provide comprehensive care to the Orthopedic Oncology Surgical service to meet the medical and psychosocial needs of our patients, implement and evaluate standards of care, and participate in research necessary to establish exemplary, evidence-based care.
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will join a team of over 800 NPs and PAs across MSK who are dedicated to delivering compassionate, expert and comprehensive cancer care to patients and families, supporting the mission, philosophy, standards, goals and objectives of the institution and department.

Collaborate with members of a multidisciplinary team
Deliver comprehensive Peri Operative care to our Orthopedic surgery patients
Evaluate patients in the outpatient clinic setting using both shared and independent visit models
First and Second Assist in Orthopedic Surgical cases
Ensure the delivery of exemplary care and cultivate an environment that centers on the needs of patients and their families
Serve as a clinical authority and resource providing education and consultation to healthcare team members.
Participate in the implementation of patient education and clinical support programs to ensure optimal care throughout the healthcare continuum
Qualifications needed for a PA candidate are:
Graduate from an accredited PA program
Active NYS license or be qualified for state licensure
Minimum of 2 years of related experience is preferred but new graduates are encouraged to apply
BLS certification/ACLS certification
Qualifications needed for an NP candidate are:
Current New York State (NYS) RN and NP licenses/registrations RN-First Assist certification
Masters degree in nursing, prescriptive privileges (or eligibility)
Related National NP certification
Minimum of 2 years of related clinical experience is preferred, new graduates are encouraged to apply
