You Will Be Responsible For:
The Physical Therapist will practice within the Scope of Standards of Physical Therapy practice:
Demonstrates through behavior Florida Hospital’s Core Values of Integrity, Compassion, Balance, Excellence, Stewardship and Teamwork as outlined in the organization’s Performance Excellence Program.
Evaluation: Collection of comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation; Performs consults as indicated from database collection.
Re-Evaluation: Performs assessments as indicated due to changes in patient’s medical condition that will alter the PT treatment plan previously determined.
Reassessments: Evaluates progress toward attainment of expected outcomes.
Treatment Plan: Analyzes the assessment data to determine course of treatment.
Goal Setting: Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or situation.
Planning: The patient’s plan of care is developed to attain expected outcomes.
Implementation: Implements the identified plan of care.
Supervision of and Collaboration with Physical Therapy Assistants: In order to implement the plan of care and determine its effectiveness, identify changes with patient’s condition that may alter the plan of care, and assist with methodology of treatments.
Teaches, directs and instructs PT Technician: In order to promote safety and carry out an effective treatment method, the Physical Therapist must be able to provide timely, proper, effective instructions to the PT Technician so they can provide better support wherever necessary.
Training: Effectively educate and train patients, caregivers, and team members, when necessary.
The Physical Therapist must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities, and be able to explain and demonstrate that he/she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using a combination of skills and abilities.
This position requires experience treating patients with pelvic floor disorders, in both male and female populations.
Comprehensive knowledge and application of principles of medical physical therapy for therapeutic diagnosis and treatment.
Ability to communicate in written, verbal and electronic formats with patients, staff, physicians, nurses and administrators in an effective, accurate and timely manner.
Ability to plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the work of others.
Ability to initiate and promote innovation and change.
Ability to establish collaborative alliances and promote teamwork.
Ability to establish, implement and/or update Plan of Care.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:
Has the ability to use or to learn how to use an electronic information system used in a healthcare setting.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program with a specific degree/major in Physical Therapy
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
No experience required if a graduate of Doctorate in Physical Therapy program
At least a 2-year experience if a graduate of non-Doctorate in Physical Therapy program
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
Current Florida Physical Therapy license
Current BLS from American Heart Association
The Physical Therapist provides self-directed, effective therapy to patients in accordance with the Florida Physical Therapy Association standards and pursuant to the Florida Department of Professional Regulation, Chapter 486.021 (S): “Physical Therapist means a person who is licensed and who practices physical therapy in accordance with this chapter.”
