Occ Summary
The Operations Administrator provides on-site ope rational leadership ona 24-hour basis (including weekends and holidays). This position willhave the authority to act on behalf of hospital leade rship. TheOperations Administrator must act independently to provide cri sismanagement, interpret policy, make timely decisions that directly imp actpatient care, ensure timely and effective communication andcollaborat ion among departments, and provide operational oversightthroughout the H ospital. This position is the administrative liaison topatients, famili es, health system employees and external customers.

1. Demonstrate judgment and self-sufficiency in effective problemsolving while serving as the administrative and operational reso urce forthe hospital.- Intervene in situations involving patients, visit ors, hospital staffand other external customers.- Coordinate operations and personnel activities to meetCSU/Departmental, Hospital and Health System objectives related to theprovision of services within designated ar eas.- Maintain interface with departmental personnel to ensure there isa dequate space and facilities for patient care and coordination offacilit ies.- Oversee patient care flow while redirecting and allocating resourc es.-Determine necessary space, equipment, supplies and support systems t oensure effective functioning of unit/department.- Investigate patient/v isitor concerns and implements appropriatecourses of action.- Take corre ctive action in situations requiring immediate intervention,including in terpretation and administration of hospital policy and workrules.- Inter vene and problem solves for inter-/intra-departmental issues.Facilitate interdepartmental communication, negotiation and decision-making.- Obtai n adequate facts and evaluates data to identify and intervene inactual a nd/or potential safety and risk management issues.- Communicate pertinen t information (verbal and/or electronic) in atimely manner to hospital a dministration and department leadership.- Document pertinent information , actions and decisions and communicatesto appropriate leadership.- Comm unicate issues identified by front line staff to appropriateadministrati ve team related to new administrative or departmentalinitiatives.2. Sup port clinical, operational and facility services throughout theentire Ho spital on a 24-hour basis.- Collaborate with clinical and support staff to foster delivery ofquality care- Coordinate triage activities, as need ed, through communication withthe Emergency Department, Bed Control and Chief Medical Officer- Assist staff in identifying clinical experts for specific patientpopulation concerns.- Attend Code Five events and partic ipates as needed; provide feedbackfor staff and completes QA report.- As sist Patient Access Services in coordinating patient placement.- Maintai n visibility with hospital staff through rounds.- Assist in evaluating a nd reassigning staff during crisis situations.- Serve as Notary Public for assistance with advance directives(healthcare power of attorney and l iving will).- Participate in JCAHO activities.- Coach staff in problem s olving, effective communication strategies,conflict resolution and caree r path opportunities.3. Provide on-site management/leadership of crisi s situations toprevent or minimize disruption of services.- Optimize res ources to maintain facility operations.- Monitor emergency action proced ures and coordinate activities relatedto patient/staff evacuation as nee ded.- Function as on-site coordinator for internal/external disasters or other major events.- Assist with the initiation of the severe weather po licy in conjunctionwith the leadershp team- Authorize financial assistan ce up to $100.00 for patient satisfiersand operational situations.- Dete rmine when AOC is notified for second level intervention. Minimum Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is required. Master's degree is strongly preferred.
Experience
Work requires a minimum of five years of relevant experience of which two of the years must be clinical.
Degrees, Licensures, Certifications
Current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina required. BLS required.
