Shift: 8am-5pm Monday - Friday but needs to be flexible to cover other centers as needed

The value you’ll bring to the team:
Interviews, hires and orients clinical staff, completes clinical competencies with new hires and each clinical staff member prior to annual review. Completes clinical staff annual performance appraisals. Approves clinical staff continuing education requests and forwards to clinical management team. Coordinates in-services by clinical staff and vendors. Actively serves as a mentor or assigns a mentor from the team to new graduates. Engages in promoting evidence-based standards of care and lifelong learning through autonomous and collaborative participation in research, journal club/reviews, teaching/mentoring/clinical instructor, and/or clinical practice education within a peer group. • Assists in daily operations including active involvement in clinical and service rounding, develops and delivers clinical content at staff meetings. Conducts staff meetings, and completes management reports as needed. Investigates, responds to, and resolves complaints independently. Is available as a clinical resource for physicians, patients and staff. Escalates issues, as appropriate, to the manager or senior management team for resolution. • Determines Physical Therapy Diagnosis and establishes plan of care, make recommendations for referral if treatment needed outside of scope of Physical Therapist practice. • Eligible to perform Direct Access Physical Therapy in OP setting, as indicated per state Physical Therapy practice act. • Assesses patient ability to safely and effectively perform functional mobility skills and evaluate muscle, nerve, joint, and integumentary systems. • Designs and implements a treatment plan of care utilizing practice standards and recommended techniques and modalities, insurance guidelines, and patient’s needs. Monitors patient’s response and progress to treatment and modifies treatment plan as appropriate. • Documents and charges accurately, completely, and timely using measurable and objective terminology, following standards of practice, insurance guidelines and department/hospital policies and procedures. • Identifies the need for patient/caregiver education and utilizes each opportunity for teaching on a planned or spontaneous basis. Documents education and understanding, as appropriate. • Does discharge planning and provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of equipment and follow up services. • Educates patients, family members, and caregivers. • Oversees the care provided by certified physical therapy assistants and therapy technicians, according to established regulations and practice standards. • Develops and participates in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities. Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department. Follows clinical practice guidelines of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) by impairment when appropriate. Coordinates regular chart audits and reviews for accurate and timely completion for assigned area/team including input of PI data as required. Educates clinical team and coaches individuals to support regulatory and content compliance with clinical documentation. • Meets productivity standard as defined by department. • Determines clinician and tech schedules of the center to best meet the patients’ needs and performs schedule consolidation on a daily basis so that each patient meets the plan of care as agreed upon by the patient and referring physician. Willingly adjusts to changes in patient census by altering working hours to assist in other centers/programs as needed. • Regularly participates in marketing to physicians/physician practices to build referral relationships with a minimum of two contacts per month. Ensures that clinical team is meeting the marketing expectation of their job description. Supports consumer marketing and public awareness through participation in community events, educational lectures/speaking, and/or other extension of clinical expertise to the community as approved by manager or director. • Practices principles of employee and patient safety when performing daily job activities and ensures clinical staff and self-compliance with adherence to the Compliance Plan, rules and regulations of all local, state, and federal agencies, and with the standards of all accrediting bodies and payers as evident through documentation reviews, tracers and rounds’ results. Takes responsibility of the environment of care by monitoring and taking action as needed. • Willingly adaptsâ¯to changesâ¯to meet the needs of patient, center and/or department, includingâ¯alteringâ¯scheduleâ¯to assist in other centers/ programs as needed/ approved and observed by manager. • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: • Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy • Two or more years of work experience as a licensed and treating physical therapist OR • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy • Two years of work experience as a licensed and treating physical therapist
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: • Five or more years of work experience as a licensed and treating physical therapist
