Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) is a skilled member of the health team who provides medical and educational services to patients under the supervision of a licensed physician, according to Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant Protocol, and within the scope of the Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant License in the State of Wisconsin.
In this role, you will be a part of a comprehensive pain management model (includes pain psychology option) seeing consults and follow-up appointments. This department works closely with Physical Medicine and Neurosurgery, and will have a newly remodeled clinic space this coming November. There will be outreach to our Stevens Point, Wi Rapids and Neillsville Centers twice per month.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: Master's Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant.
EXPERIENCE
Preferred/Optional: One to three years' nursing experience in specialty.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum Required: Current State of Wisconsin Nurse/PA License or Nurse Compact License, and Nurse Practitioner Licensure. Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) License. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire. Additional department-specific certifications, licenses, or memberships may be required (varies by department/location).
Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
