FACULTY OPPORTUNITY-Department of Neurology, University of Maryland, Baltimore

The Department of Neurology at the University of Maryland Baltimore School of Medicine and the University of Maryland Rehabilitation and Orthopaedic Institute are seeking a full-time physician for an outstanding academic practice opportunity in Spinal Cord Injury Medicine rehabilitation.  The position involves inpatient and outpatient practice, teaching of fellows, residents and medical students, and an opportunity to participate in collaborative clinical research.  Besides spinal cord injury and dysfunction, there is also the potential to participate in other rehabilitation services such as spasticity management, prosthetics and inpatient rehabilitation consultation.  This is an opportunity to join a motivated team of physicians, nurses and therapists that run the largest inpatient spinal cord injury rehabilitation program in Maryland. This position reports directly to Dr. Peter Gorman, Chief, Division of Rehabilitation Medicine.  

The referenced salary range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank.  This salary range does not include all components of the Department of Neurology faculty compensation program or pay from participation in Department of Neurology variable compensation programs. Therefore, the actual compensation paid to the selected candidate may vary from the salary range stated herein. For more information, please contact the hiring department.

The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on the University of Maryland School of Medicine’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.

Salary range: 

Associate Professor- $234,546 to $321,940

Assistant Professor- $218,861 to $280,000

Qualifications - External

Candidates should have completed a residency in PM&R or Neurology and be board eligible or certified in their respective field. Added certification in spinal cord injury medicine is required.  Clinical research experience is desirable but not required. The candidate should be eligible for academic appointment to the University of Maryland School of Medicine at the assistant or associate professor level.
